pH Regulation: mechanism and applications

The amino acid decarboxylases are important in acid resistance

and are induced at low pH. The presence of oxygen, the amino acid,

and specific gene regulators play a role in the induction process.

Application of a promoter that is strongly induced at

moderately low pH is illustrated.
